Part 1: Love and Marriage

Question 1: What are your thoughts on marriage in today’s society?

Answer: I think marriage is a wonderful thing, but it definitely looks different than it used to. You know, in the past, there were a lot of gender stereotypes. Traditionally, the guys were the breadwinners, bringing home the bacon, while the women stayed at home, you know, changing diapers and whipping up meals.

Question 2: Do you think this traditional setup is still relevant these days?

Answer: Absolutely not! We’re seeing a lot more duo families now. Women are climbing the corporate ladders and making some serious dough themselves. Money doesn’t just grow on trees anymore! It costs a pretty green to raise a family these days.

Question 3: So, how do couples manage this shift in roles?

Answer: Well, it takes a lot of communication and teamwork. There’s definitely been a big leap forward in terms of equalizing the gender roles in marriage. Men are no longer relegated to being stay-at-home fathers. They’re out there picking up the kids and walking the dog just as much as the women.

Question 4: What happens if couples can’t adapt to this change?

Answer: Unfortunately, some couples end up parting ways. If the rift is just too big, there’s no point forcing it, right? But, I’ve also seen couples who have managed to resolve their marriage through counseling or just talking things out.

Question 5: Do you know anyone who has made a big change in their life because of marriage?

Answer: Actually, yes! My friend Thao Ngan used to be a bit of a homebody, but after getting married, she’s really come out of her shell. She’s taken a great stride in her career and seems so much happier. Marriage has definitely been a positive change for her.
