Overall, the museum underwent a significant reconfiguration, with the introduction of new facilities such as a restaurant, fountains, and a café sitting area, while the distribution of permanent exhibition rooms was adjusted to occupy mainly the eastern side. Meanwhile, the entrance and ticketing area remained unchanged throughout the decade.
In 1998, the central feature was a square garden, surrounded by permanent exhibition rooms on both sides. Directly above the garden was a café, while the southern section contained the ticket entrance, a shop, a cloakroom for bags and coats, and a WC. A temporary exhibition room was located to the west of the entrance.
By 2008, however, the garden was redesigned with fountains, and the café was downsized to make space for a WC. A dedicated café sitting area was also added adjacent to the café, providing more comfort for visitors.
