What is immediately striking upon observing the depictions is that the common room has undergone a dramatic transformation in terms of interior arrangement, characterised largely by the notable reorganisation of tables and chairs, with the addition of armchairs and benches used specifically for laptops to reflect an increased emphasis on student comfort. While there has been some item rearrangements in the uppermost area, the main area has also welcomed modern devices and conveniences.
Five years ago, the room’s spatial configuration largely consisted of four round tables positioned in a zigzag manner, each equipped with five chairs – a design philosophy reflecting a focus on small group discussions.
