Coffee Production

The given bar chart compares four different nations with regard to coffee production statistics.

The given bar chart compares four different nations with regard to coffee production statistics.

Looking from an overall perspective, it is evident that Brazil led all countries and increased both consistently and markedly at the end of the period. Indonesia and Vietnam also registered upward trajectories, but to a much lesser extent, while Colombia’s production numbers declined by the end of the timeline. Additionally, Indonesia surpassed Colombia to eventually become the second most prominent coffee producer, followed closely by both Colombia and Vietnam.

Brazil commenced the period producing roughly 0.7 million tonnes of coffee, and the country’s figure rose, climbing by roughly 0.25 million tonnes every five years to peak at 1.9 million tonnes in 2010. Similar trends can be seen in Indonesia and Vietnam, both of which witnessed increasing trends and were stable in the initial five years, with Indonesia at 0.2 million and Vietnam at around 0.1 million. From then, there was a gradual growth in both countries to 0.4 million for Indonesia and 0.3 million in 2010 for Vietnam.

Colombia, despite starting the period as the second-largest producer, dropped steadily by around 0.1 million every five years to reach 0.3 million by 2010, representing the third-highest position after Indonesia and Brazil.

ADVERBS

“Brazil led all countries and increased both consistently and markedly at the end of the period.

Here I used the adverbs “consistently” and “markedly” to describe the manner in which Brazil’s coffee production increased. This structure is useful for ESL learners to master as it helps them add emphasis and provide more details to their sentences. The use of adverbs can also make the writing more engaging and descriptive.
